Happy Sunday. So this day last week I was invited along to the fabulous hotel Kilmore for their annual spring wedding fair. As a future bride of the hotel myself I was delighted they chose me to showcase their beautiful hotel for the day.
I was never one for future planning or never that person who had every detail of their wedding planned but I always knew if I was lucky enough to be a bride that I would have my wedding in the Hotel Kilmore. Its one of those places you feel comfortable in and I suppose that’s down to their wonderful staff nothing is ever too much trouble.
The hotel itself is situated on the Dublin road just outside Cavan town. It is a 4 star family run business and Ross and Cath are genuinely some of the nicest people you could meet. They have recently built on an extra 35 rooms and an amazing new bridal suit (you could actually live in it).
New hotel rooms
All other rooms are due to be renovated early next year as are the already fabulous wedding reception rooms. They cater for small intimate weddings as well as larger weddings and they also have there own wedding ceremony room in the country suite for those of you who wish to say I do at the hotel.

The hotel also has 3 stunning gardens perfect for your family wedding photos (great if it happens to be raining as you can pop in and out of the venue to get your perfect shots).
There is a one wedding per day policy at the hotel so you don’t have to worry about sharing your special day with anyone else (a very important thing for most brides and myself personally). No bride and Groom wants to plan their perfect day and then have to share it with another bride and groom and their guests.
The hotel also has a fabulous function room called the Brackley suite which can be used for your wedding after party. The room has its own bar and is situated at the side of the hotel overlooking one of the hotels stunning new gardens. The hotel can arrange a chef to do a barbecue outside for you and your after party guests (how amazing would that be on a summers day).
The Food (most important part of any wedding day). Full bellies make happy guests. The food is always fantastic at the hotel Kilmore and its always a talking point for all the right reasons. Its one thing I know I wont be worried about on my wedding day because its always top class.
After the lovely Kim (wedding coordinator at the hotel) finished showing us around the hotel myself and my lovely bridesmaid Hannah got to go and meet some of the fabulous wedding suppliers showcasing at the hotels wedding fair.
Instaglam photo booth
Instaglam hire out selfie mirrors and vintage photobooths which print your guests pictures instantly. The bride and grooms names and wedding date can be added creating a fabulous fun keepsake for both the bride and groom and their guests. They have also introduced the new ring light photo booth which takes boomerangs or your wedding guests and the bride and groom get to keep it as a little video (how funny would that be to watch back) . They have a range of different packages to suit everyone and I will definitely be hiring them for my own wedding.
Eileen Brady Millinery
Eileen is based in Cavan. She creates the most beautiful bespoke head pieces for the mother of the bride and groom or your wedding guests. The detail that goes into her work is outstanding and if your wearing one of Eileen’s pieces your sure to stand out of the crowd
Boyle for men & DT one menswear
Both shops can be found in Cavan town. Boyle for men and DT one have an unmatched selection of suits for the groom, grooms men and fathers of the bride and groom.
Power Struggle are a fantastic wedding band. They played at my sisters wedding a few years ago and had the floor full all night long. Finding the perfect wedding band is so hard as music is such a personal thing but you should definitely give these guys a listen if your on the look out for a good lively wedding band, they wont disappoint.
Monaghan Limousines are a wedding car hire company. They have a great range of cars for you to choose from, so you will be sure to find your dream car for your big day.
Hair & Makeup
All the models hair was done by Marcellas hair Salon in Cavan town.
Ali Mc Guire done such a fabulous job on the models makeup. She created a soft glam look leaving the skin with a beautiful glow. The perfect bridal makeup.
This was my favorite part of the day. As a fashion blogger and a bride to be I have become a little obsessed at looking at wedding dresses. The dresses on show from Love Ellie, Amsha Bridal and My Fair Lady at the wedding fairs fashion show where stunning. How I am supposed to pick a dress is beyond me.
All the looks were modeled by models from Catwalk Modelling agency and the fashion show was hosted by the lovely Mandy owner of catwalk modelling agency.
There where also some fabulous looks on show for the mother of the bride from Olivia Danielle boutique and Gasp Boutique.
The wedding fair really had something for everyone and catered for all aspects of your big day. I honestly cannot say enough good things about the Hotel Kilmore the crowds that attended the wedding fair proved how popular of a wedding venue the hotel is. So if your a bride or Groom to be I would highly recommend you visit this fabulous venue. The staff will be happy to show you around but be warned you will fall in love with the place just as I did.
You can have a look at my instagram highlights of the day if you missed it.
